The tool uses JavaScript's ECMAScript regex engine. This is consistent with how regexes behave in Node.js, browser JavaScript, and most frontend frameworks.

Capture groups (parentheses in the pattern) are shown in the match details panel below the highlighted matches — the full match and each numbered group are listed separately.

Yes. JavaScript supports named capture groups using the (?<name>...) syntax. The group values appear by name in the match results.

g (global), i (case-insensitive), m (multiline), s (dot matches newline), and u (Unicode) flags are all supported.

Yes. The test input area accepts multi-line text. Use the m flag to make ^ and $ match line starts and ends rather than just the start/end of the whole string.
