GeoJSON Well-Known Text

Well-Known Text (WKT) is an OGC standard text markup language for representing vector geometry objects. Examples: POINT(30 10), LINESTRING(30 10, 10 30), POLYGON((35 10, 45 45, 15 40, 10 20, 35 10)).

Point, LineString, Polygon, MultiPoint, MultiLineString, MultiPolygon, and GeometryCollection are all supported.

Yes. Use ST_GeomFromText('POLYGON(...)') in your SQL queries. Remember to include the SRID: ST_GeomFromText('POINT(30 10)', 4326).

GeoJSON uses longitude, latitude order (x, y). WKT follows the same x, y convention so coordinates are output as longitude latitude — consistent with GeoJSON input.
